Artist Statement

“I am a representational watercolor artist who is inspired by the many aspects of nature. It has taught me to be keenly observant of color, values, & the changing light. Photographing these appealing scenes, especially while traveling, has provided me with painting possibilities. I am interested in conveying those feelings, ideas and interests in my paintings.

I graduated from Columbus College of Art and Design, majoring in advertising and minoring in illustration. I have exhibited throughout Central Ohio.

I am a member of Central Ohio Watercolor Society, Ohio Watercolor Society, Worthington Area Art League and Women’s Palette.”

About the Artist

Linda M. Coe grew up in Logan, Ohio – a small town located in the southeastern part of Ohio, where she enjoyed the benefits of a small close-knit community. During her formative years, she often accompanied her father and grandfather on hunting trips and general exploration of the woods around the eastern edge of Logan. During those trips she became more aware of nature and all its glory. The respect for and enjoyment of nature continues to inspire her. The peace-filled quiet and beauty that surrounds nature is a ‘tonic and stabilizer’ when she needs to distance herself from the busyness, congestion and demands of life.

Many years after graduating from Columbus College of Art and Design; Linda renewed her interest in watercolor painting and finds it gratifying and challenging each time she begins a new painting.
