Art has a way of transporting us—across oceans, through memories, and into moments we may never have experienced ourselves. In her vibrant paintings, local artist Leah Reynolds invites us along on those journeys, capturing the spirit of places both near and far with warmth, color, and imagination.

Painting is woven into Leah’s family history. Raised in a family of artists, she was surrounded by creativity from an early age. Her parents met while studying at Columbus College of Art & Design, and her grandfather, Ivan Pusecker, was a respected Columbus painter whose artistic legacy continues to inspire her today. Leah earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design and Fine Art from The Ohio State University and later worked as a designer and illustrator for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources before devoting more of her energy to her own artistic pursuits.

Leah works across a variety of media, including acrylic, gouache, pen and ink, and oil pastel. Her paintings are inspired by the landscapes, architecture, and people she encounters while traveling. Whether depicting a quiet corner of Ireland, the vivid colors of Morocco, a sun-drenched Bahamian street, or a familiar scene from home, she seeks to capture not only what a place looks like, but how it feels.

The paintings featured in this exhibit showcase her joyful approach to color and composition. In Island Life – Bahamas, brilliant reds and blues create a striking   portrait that conveys both the beauty of the setting and the quiet dignity of its subject.

Mesa Verde transforms the American landscape into a sweeping, expressive vision of color and movement,

while Tea Cups and Fruit celebrates the simple pleasures of everyday life through playful brushwork and a palette that seems to glow from within.

What unites these diverse subjects is Leah’s ability to find wonder in the world around her. Her paintings balance observation with imagination, blending recognizable scenes with a whimsical sense of energy and delight. The result is artwork that feels both personal and inviting—windows into places, memories, and experiences that resonate long after the first glance.

Leah has exhibited throughout Ohio, and her original works can be found in private collections across the United States and abroad. Yet despite her growing recognition, she remains committed to a simple philosophy: original art should be attainable. She believes artwork belongs in everyday life and strives to create pieces that are accessible to anyone who wishes to bring the beauty and individuality of an original painting into their home.
