How Argo & Lehne is Giving Back

For every cake purchase we will donate the full amount to BalletMet’s “The Wiggle Jig” and for every jewelry purchase between Nov. 23-24 we will donate 10% of the sales.

Tis the season for giving and this year our cause is “The Wiggle Jig,” a comprehensive outreach program developed by BalletMet to help children become kindergarten-ready through dance.

More About Wiggle Jig…

This program enhances students social, motor, and cognitive learning skills. Teachers also encourage self expression and critical thinking skills.

BalletMet works with a variety of public schools and Head Start Programs in the Columbus area. Programming includes 10, 20, or 25 weeks of dance classes (one class per week) taught by two dance educators and a musician, professional development for teachers, tours of BalletMet’s Dance Center, the literacy companion book Leap and Twirl, an evaluation protocol, and a yearly Family Day.

BalletMet is one of the first professional ballet companies in the United States to offer this type of comprehensive approach for young children in a community setting and we are so grateful.

Making an Impact in the Local Community

BalletMet’s The Wiggle Jig program is a model of how a professional ballet company can provide young students with a fun and educational movement curriculum. Furthermore, exposure to dance promotes cultural literacy in participating children through their participation and exposure to the art form. It is clear that The Wiggle Jig can make dance and movement accessible to a large population of young students and give classroom teachers the tools to include movement in daily curricula.

BalletMet continues to enhance The Wiggle Jig and is grateful for opportunities like Argo & Lehne’s Black Friday: Cakes for a Cause to allow the program to gain awareness and the ability to fund more classes in the area. To learn more about The Wiggle Jig visit Balletmet’s site here.

A Warm Thank You to All!

From A&L, Balletmet and the children of the program.
